15 ways to practice more #selfcare

15 ways to practice more #selfcare

life can get pretty crazy these days, making it increasingly difficult to feel quiet, rested and calm. the worst part? over time, this can lead to stress and burn out in the form of illness.

so as part of our #selflove month, we'd like you to direct a little kindness and care towards yourself for a change, finding space in your routine that's just for you, to find more joy, be more calm so you can fuel yourself with a whole lot more self love.

here's some of our favourite ways to practice self-care:

1. write a to-do list

simplify your schedule by writing down what you need to do. prioritise what's important. ask yourself what you can let go of.

2. move your body

stretch, swim, run, do yoga, or whatever physical activity you enjoy. it's just about moving your body.

3. take a long, warm bath

there is nothing quite like it, and while you're at it, light your favourite candle and throw in some lovely bath salts.

4. be thankful

write down at least 3 things that you're thankful for.

5. unplug for a day

go on a digital detox for the day, and avoid the temptation to scroll endlessly.

6. heal your gut

good health and true self care comes from within. so take care of your gut and listen to the signs she's giving you. (*hint hint* try some Belly Blends as a great way to get started. get yours here)

7. do something new

have you been considering learning a new skill or trying a new hobby? go for it.

8. practice mindfulness

begin or end your day with a few minutes of deep breathing, and notice the difference as your mind begins to calm down.

9. dance it out

put on your favourite music, and dance like no one is watching.

10. write or journal your thoughts

take 10 minutes, and jot down whatever is on your mind. mentally release those things as you write.

11. laugh

hang out with someone who you love and who makes you feel good about yourself, and while you're at it, have a good belly laugh (there's really nothing better).

12. de-clutter

add some marie kondo to your life. choose a place -- your email inbox, your desk, a closet -- and get rid of the excess and junk.

13. really enjoy and saviour something you love

pour that wine, eat that chocolate, and go slow and enjoy every single mouthful.

14. sleep

take a nap, or just go to bed earlier.

15. talk to someone

meet with a counsellor, psychologist, or health care practitioner.

what is one thing you can do today to practice self-care? how do you generally practice self-care? we'd love to know, share in the comments.
